To AHS Swim Parents:
Great job to all the swimmers on Saturday ... it was a long meet, and they did really well.  Thank you to all who volunteered for the many jobs this past weekend which made the meet run very well.  All the help with the scoreboard, timing, officiating, admission and food is much appreciated!  A special congratulations to the Senior Swimmers ... I hope they all enjoyed their last home meet!  Senior parents should be especially proud.

Even though the home meets are behind us, the season is not over ... there's still more to go ...  this week's updates are as follows:

SOUTHWEST CLASSIC - Milford Location, Sat-Sun, January 17-18
Our meet this weekend is a really big one ... there are preliminaries held at multiple locations (all of our swimmers will swim prelims at Milford) starting at 8am with the top 16 swimmers from all locations going to Keating for evening Finals.  Because there are so many swimmers in this meet, we won't have a large number qualify for finals.  All results will be posted to the following website:
http://www.swimmeet.com/meets/classic09/

The bus will go to/from the Milford prelim location.  Timing for both days is as follows:
Eds group - warm up at 6am at Anderson / bus leaves for Milford at 7:15am
Nates group bus leaves at 6:30am to warm up at Milford
No bus transportation for finals.
Admission is $3 for the morning sessions and $5 for finals.  The meet is really big and long, so if you are attending and want seating in the pool area, you need to arrive early.  The kids will set up in the gym or hallway with towels/blankets.  Make sure to send some healthy snacks and water with them for the long day as well as extra towels ... maybe even some extra goggles and cap as well.

A bus will be leaving after the majority of the prelim meet has completed then another will leave after the 1650.  If your child is swimming the 1650, you need to provide your own timer as well as a counter.

Also, the pasta dinner info (Smith's house), entries, and psych sheets for this meet are posted on our website http://www.andersonswimming.org/.

TIMERS FOR THE SOUTHWEST CLASSIC - HELP NEEDED!
Our team is responsible for providing 2 timers each day at Milford, and 2 timers for the evening session at Keating on Saturday.  Paul Vigar and Sandy Paroz have volunteered for the evening session on Saturday, but we still need 4 people willing to time on Saturday am and Sunday am at Milford.  Timers would need to be at the meet by 7:30am, and will be working together in the same lane.  Anderson is assigned lane 1 on Saturday and lane 4 on Sunday.  Please respond back to this e-mail if you can help ... you'll have a front row seat at the meet!

CONCESSION WORKERS FOR FRIDAY
A quick reminder that our Jan 16th concession date for the AHS basketball game is this Friday night ... 4:30pm.  Currently scheduled are: Wellborn, Darlington, Banks, Banks, Paroz.  Any questions or comments about concessions, please contact Sandy

FINANCIAL STATUS
As you know, we started a $ collection for pizza and cake at last Tuesday's meet.  Thank you to so many who have contributed.  You may have already heard one of us say, that we are learning what is needed as we go, and have determined that collecting an amount from each family at the beginning of the season would have been the best approach.  However, we've got a little more info now, and this is where we stand:
  - We collected approx $100 for the pizza and cake, and have $12. remaining from that ..
  - We also sold heat sheets at yesterday's meet and collected $60, which all was used for flowers, balloons & senior gifts.

So, in a nutshell, we have $12 remaining and still have $200 worth of booster baskets to do and coaches gifts.  If you have not contributed yet, and could give $5-$10, it would be appreciated!  We do apologize for not having this figured out at the beginning, and be assured that we will have it organized at the time of the November parent meeting next year.

Thank you again for all your help (and patience!).
