From Ed’s desk:
Classic Info:
Ed’s group will avoid the
crowd at Milford and warm up
at Anderson 6:10am both
Saturday and Sunday.
The bus will leave at 7:15am
from up top. Prelims will
begin at 8am both days.
Warm up for Finals will
start at 6pm at Keating
Natatorium/ meet starts at
7pm.
Those who qualify for finals
will need to supply their
own ride each night. Only
one relay from
Each team is allowed to swim
in Finals regardless of
time. If you are planning
on attending Finals- GET
THERE EARLY!!!!
This is the most crowded you
will ever see Keating!!!
It seems to always snow this
weekend so plans will go on
for the meet. It is suppose
to snow this weekend as
well.
The Classic is the “largest
high school meet in the
country” with over 2500
swimmers.
Prelims occur in 6 different
sites across Southern Ohio.
The top 16 from each event
come together
and swim at Keating which is
filmed for cable TV. Each
event winner is interview
for TV as well.
Results will be posted at
each prelim site.
“Technical difficulties”
happen each year so be
prepared to not
know exact results till mid
afternoon.
I recommend each swimmer
bring some HEALTHY snack
food to eat at prelims to
keep energy levels up.
For all Classic results and
any high school swimming
“stuff” -à

Thank you for your support!!
Ed
Friday's (Jan 18)
practice will start at
4:30 p.m.
Swimmers in my the JV
practice group can check
with me about what
events they are swimming
this weekend at the
Southwest Classic and if
they are swimming both
days or just one day.
Reminder, the bus will
leave at
6:15 a.m. near
the circle each morning
for Milford High
School.
I know that exams have
been stressful for you.
But you are doing a good
job of attending
practice. This week is
the most difficult of
the year in terms of
time management. Keep
up the good work with
both your studies and
swimming. Remember AHS
stands for Anderson High
School so
concentrate on the books
and balance it
appropriately with
swimming during this
week.
Coach Foster
Hot
off the press!
Food
will be provided before
the Turpin meet on
January 29th. It will be
the same as last year,
Jersey Mike's sub,
pretzels, water or
Gatorade. I will need
$5.00 from each swimmer/
diver who wants food.
Please either send money
or a note saying that
you are not interested
by January 23rd. Ed and
Mr. Foster will have
envelopes for collecting
money. If you want the
food but are unable to
get the money in on
time, please call or
email me so I can order
the correct amount of
food. 474-6069/

Swimmers who practice at
the Y--please make sure
all of your friends have
seen the email!
The
South West Classics are
this coming weekend. We
will need 4 timers (2
shifts) Saturday and
Sunday. We will also
need 2 timers for finals
on Saturday at St X. If
you anticipate your
child being at finals,
please volunteer for
this. It's a very
competitive meet and not
many will go to finals.
I do not believe you
get in free if you
time--sorry, not my
rule!
Attention parents of
seniors or friends of
parents of seniors who
are not on the email
list!! Attached is the
senior bio form for OUR
senior recognition that
will be held before our
Turpin meet January
29th. Please fill it out
and return to Ed by the
date posted. Also, any
one who was at the
LaSalle meet, they had
FABULOUS posters of each
senior and we are HOPING
to do something similar
for our seniors. They
will run between $10 and
$20--just a guess based
on what their parents
told me and prices I
have seen at Staples. We
don't want any one left
out but obviously, a few
parents can't foot the
bill for all. If any one
is opposed to paying for
such a poster PLEASE
email me soon.
Pasta
dinner this Friday is at
the home of Nicole Ward.
To my knowledge their
are NO helpers for this
dinner. It is a bit much
for one family to
provide ALL the food.
Please consider offering
to help either this week
or one of the other
dinners. Check the
andersonswimming.org
website under 'sign ups'
for openings. I don't
recall ever seeing so
many holes in the pasta
dinner sign up. Please
step forward if you can.
I
think that's it for now!
Have a good exam week!
